Three books by Bo Huston were published in the five years before his tragically early death in May, 1993, and a fourth was published soon after he passed, age thirty-three, a victim of AIDS. The Dream Life, his second novel, was, "Huston's best work...one of the most startling and powerful novels to appear in years," Michael Bronski wrote in 1992. The Fellow Travelers Series is honored to republish The Dream Life, posthumously claiming Bo as a fellow traveler, a status that he earned in life through his close friendship with Kevin Killian (an early FTS author) and the inspiration his books have given to the rest of us. Bo's friend and colleague, the writer Rebecca Brown, has written an afterword for this new edition. The Dream Life is the thirteenth book in the Fellow Travelers Series.

Simultaneous with publication of this new edition of The Dream Life, we are proud to announce the first annual Bo Huston Prize, founded and funded by Bo's widow, Dan Carmell, granting $2000 and editorial support for a year to assist a deserving writer with completion of a book-length project, to be published as a Fellow Travelers Series book in the following year. The winner of The Bo Huston Prize 2023 is Joshua Escobar. Please follow us on Instagram @fellowtravelersseries or Twitter @fellowseries for more information and announcements of future prizes.
