“Quem disse que sapatão não sabe cozinhar?” é uma uma tradução e reedição coletiva do livreto de 1983, “Who Ever Said Dykes Can’t Cook?”, editado por Maya Contenta e Victoria Ramstetter para arrecadar fundos para o Cincinnati Lesbian Activist Bureau. O livro original foi encontrado no Lesbian Herstory Archives por Félixe Kazi-Tani, pesquisadore e ativista transfeminista francese, durante o inverno de 2022. Com a ajuda de Laura Daviña, do PSSP, Livia Viganó, do coletivo Greta e de um grupo de voluntáries engajades [Ananda, Carol, Félixe, Ginna, Helen, Laura, Livia, Rapha, Thais], foi organizada uma oficina no Parquinho Gráfico da Casa do Povo para traduzir, implementar com novas receitas, ilustrar e imprimir o livro.

Compartilhamos longas discussões sobre comida e culinária, economia, culturas e práticas. Contribuiram também com receitas: Eva Lyra, Fernanda Meireles, Milly Lacombe, Tatiana Szeles e amigues da comunidade.

Parte do valor arrecadado com a venda desta publicação será doado para os programas sociais da Casa 1 (centro de cultura e acolhimento de pessoas LGBTQIAPN+ na cidade de São Paulo)

The Who Ever Said Dykes Can't Cook? cookbook is a collective translation and new edition of the 1983 booklet edited by Maya Contenta & Victoria Ramstetter to raise funds for the Cincinnati Lesbian Activist Bureau. One of the copies of the original book was found in the Lesbian Herstory Archives by Félixe Kazi-Tani, a French transfeminist activist and researcher, during the winter of 2022. With the help of Laura Daviña, from PSSP, Livia Viganó, from Greta collective and a group of committed volunteers, a workshop was organized to translate, implement, illustrate and print the book. We shared long discussions about food and cooking, economics, cultures and practices. Also contributing with new brazilian recipes: Eva Lyra, Fernanda Meireles, Milly Lacombe, Tatiana Szeles and friends. Part of the amount raised from the sales of this publication will be donated to social programs at Casa 1 (a cultural and social shelter center for LGBTQIAPN+ people in São Paulo, Brazil).
